In the age of smartphones, the BlackBerry company decided to return after a while with 5G smartphones with keyboards. Earlier last year, the contract with TCL was terminated. Surprisingly, it took only a few months for a new company to set foot. Onward Mobility has announced that it will design and sell BlackBerry-branded phones, while the company also confirmed that new 5G BlackBerry phones with classic hardware keyboards will be available in the market this year.
CEO Peter Franklin has confirmed that the company will take care of the design of BlackBerry phones to make it easier for consumers to identify the phones. Will be able to work on 5G networks equipped with classic BlackBerry hardware keyboard. Currently, Onward Mobility is working with Foxconn to develop models. The device will initially launch in the US and Europe. Later, it will be expanded in such Asian markets, but the company did not give a time frame.
On the other hand, the main focus of the new BlackBerry phones is on security.
Remember that BlackBerry has not launched any smartphone since 2018 but this year it has announced the return with a new 5G smartphone. Details regarding the features of the new BlackBerry smartphone have not been shared yet, but interestingly, it will feature a keyboard with a touchpad.
